DHAMMAKAYA MEDITATION CENTRE OF NEWCASTLE

History

Over 150 years, old iconic church of Andrew Leslie, St Andrew’s church, had been disused for decades before a group of Thai monks made it alive again in 2012 to become the Dhammakaya Centre of Newcastle.

“We hope that our Centre is a gift which is created for the Tyneside region. Our purpose is to bring meditation to the local community and promote world peace by meditation.”

Phra Samuha Pichit, The Abbot

Dhammakaya Meditation Centre of Newcastle

For more than ten years, our centre has opened its doors to host meditation for beginners and advanced meditators for the Thai community and residents. The key aims are promoting human kindness and peace and bringing the Thai and local residents together as a whole community. We are the sanctuary for the search for true happiness and inner peace, along with cultivating good deeds.
